SONOTEC, the leading specialist in ultrasonic measurement technology, will showcase its unique SONOFLOW CO.55 V3.0 flow meter series at booth #2801 at the INTERPHEX (April 21st - 23rd, 2026, New York, USA), the leading international exhibition for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. With its current version, the first and only ultrasonic flow meter with a touch display features integrated air bubble detection and allows users to access sensor performance data such as signal strength and measurement time for AI bioprocessing models. This gives users the chance to utilize sensor data for machine learning and advanced data analysis.

Better process control with air bubble detection
The development and manufacture of medications is a highly complex process in which air bubbles can lead to dosing inaccuracies or uneven flow rates. After all, this can also have an impact on the final product. In the latest sensor version, the clamp-on ultrasonic sensor reliably detects air bubbles in the flow, which can be communicated to the process control system as an air bubble alert and also appears on the touch display.
Highest measurement accuracy in GMP processes in the pharmaceutical industry
The SONOFLOW CO.55 V3.0 series of non-contact flow meters are specially designed for the biotechnology industry. The ultrasonic sensors offer outstanding measurement results even at low flow rates of less than 40 mL/min, achieving an accuracy of 1% or better. The sensors combine the highest levels of accuracy and reliability with intuitive usability.
The cleanroom-compatible touch display, integrated into the stainless steel housing, shows a range of critical parameters such as real-time flow data, flow direction, and selected status information, including air bubble alerts. In addition, flow and volume data can be reset or adjusted incrementally via touch commands if required by the process.
