SONOTEC at the 2026 DGZfP Annual Conference in Aachen

Events Customized Ultrasonic Transducers

SONOTEC participated in the annual conference of the German Society for Non-Destructive Testing (DGZfP) in Aachen from May 11 to 13, 2026. The event at Eurogress Aachen convened experts from industry and research, offering 84 technical presentations that provided a comprehensive overview of current developments in non-destructive testing (NDT).

SONOTEC employee Mark Achtenberg presented a paper on the topic " Ultrasonic Transducers for Non-Destructive Testing Without Lead-Based Piezo-Ceramics?" as part of the program. The presentation addressed the question of whether ultrasonic probes can be produced in the future without lead-containing piezoceramics and outlined current research on alternative materials. The background to this issue includes regulatory requirements and the need to continue developing existing technologies over the long term. The presentation was met with keen professional interest and was followed by a discussion featuring practical questions from the audience.

In addition to the lecture program, SONOTEC used the annual conference for professional exchange with industry stakeholders.

The annual conference offered a concise overview of current topics in NDT, emphasizing the significance of material-related issues for the advancement of ultrasonic testing.
