1. Server log files

We process information in so-called “server log files” which are transmitted to us automatically by your browser. These include:

a. the IP address, date and time of the request,

b. the time difference with Greenwich Mean Time (GMT),

c. the content of the request (specific page), access status/HTTP status code,

d. the volume of data transmitted,

e. the website from which the request originates,

f. the browser, operating system, language and version of the browser software.

This data will be processed for the following purposes, which also represent our legitimate interests (on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR):

a. technical provision of the content and functionality of our website

b. to guarantee the operation of the website and make it user-friendly

c. administration, in particular to guarantee security and stability. Deletion takes place automatically.

2. Newsletter

Subscription to our newsletter is voluntary. To receive it, we need your email address and your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR). The latter is given via the double opt-in process. It is possible to unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of the newsletter or by sending an email to marketing@sonotec.de. In the event that you do unsubscribe from the newsletter, the data stored about you in relation to this will be deleted automatically.

3. Product registration

It is possible for you to register your SONAPHONE. This service is optional and free of charge. The personal data submitted by you to do this will be processed for the purpose of providing access to the portal and information regarding available downloads and within the framework of the contract concluded with you in advance (Art 6(1)(b) GDPR).

4. Online form

If you send requests to us using the online form (e.g. product inquiries, registrations, other queries), the details from the online form, including the contact data given, will be processed by us for the purpose of handling the request and for any subsequent correspondence. Upon completion of this process, the data will be deleted automatically. Any mandatory information is marked with a star (*) and the remaining fields are voluntary, unless indicated otherwise.

We process your data on the basis of the consent you give us by submitting the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Should the correspondence occur within the context of a contract, the processing takes place for this (pre-)contractual purpose (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Recipients of your data

In principle, only our employees receive your personal data, insofar as this is necessary to fulfill the respective purpose. In this regard, we also contract service providers for the following purposes:

  • operation of the website
  • dialog with customers
  • sales processing
  • payment processing
  • customer support

Furthermore, we only pass on your data to third parties if:

  • you have given your explicit consent to do so,
  • there is a legal obligation to do so,
  • it is necessary and legally permissible for performing contracts,
  • it is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims and is permissible in the context of the balancing of interests.

The data will not be merged with any other data sources. We reserve the right to check the data retrospectively in the event of any suspicion unlawful or other improper use and to pass it on for the defense or assertion of legal claims.

The personal data of the individual concerned will be deleted as soon as the reason for storage no longer applies or the person concerned withdraws their consent or rightfully objects to processing based on a balancing of interests. At the latest, deletion will take place upon expiry of the specified statutory period (e.g. the standard limitation period pursuant to §§ 195, 199 German Civil Code [Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch - BGB], the storage period according to §§ 147 German Fiscal Code [Abgabenordnung - AO] and 257 German Commercial Code [Handelsgesetzbuch - HGB], copyright law pursuant to §§ 64 ff. Act on Copyright and Related Rights [Urherrechtgesetz - UrhG).

If deletion is not possible (for example, because of statutory deadlines or the need for continued storage for the conclusion or fulfillment of a contract), the processing of the personal data will be restricted.

Cookies

Sometimes the websites use so-called cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer in any way and do not contain viruses or other malware. Cookies help us to make our site more user-friendly, efficient and secure. Cookies are small text files which are stored on your computer by your browser.

The majority of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. These are deleted automatically at the end of your visit to the website. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser the next time you visit the website.

You can configure your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies on an individual basis, to refuse to accept cookies in general or in specific cases or you can enable the automatic deletion of cookies when you close your browser. If cookies are disabled, this may limit the functionality of this website.

The use of cookies and the accompanying processing of your personal data are necessary for our aforementioned purposes and legitimate interests and those of third parties (Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR).

Content from third-party providers

We use features from third parties to improve our services. For example, videos from YouTube and maps provided by Google Maps. To enable the functionality of these features, it is necessary to transmit your IP address to these third parties. Unfortunately, we have no influence over whether your data is used for other purposes, such as for statistical analyses. To prevent the transmission of your IP address, you can disable JavaScript in your browser. However, this may result in the restriction of other functionality on our websites.

This website incorporates video material from YouTube. YouTube’s operator (Google Inc.) is based in the USA. By using this website, you are consenting to this automatic transmission to Google Inc., its privacy notice (link) and YouTube’s terms of use (link).

Analytics services

We use analytics services to assist with the ongoing optimization of our online content. The processing of your personal data occurs for this purpose on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR).

1. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files which are stored on the user’s computer which enable analysis of the use of the website, and creates pseudonymized usage profiles. The information generated by the cookie about the user’s website usage is normally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and processed there. The scope of this information is equivalent to that of the server log files (see above).

However, we have enabled IP anonymization on this website. This means that your IP address is truncated before it is transferred to Google. In exceptional cases, the full IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate users’ usage of the website, to compile reports about website activity and to provide other services relating to website usage and internet usage for the website operator.

The data processed from your browser by Google Analytics will not be associated with any other data held by Google. You can prevent the processing of the cookies by using the appropriate setting in your browser software or by downloading and installing a browser plugin: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. If you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.
