SONOTEC US attended 2019 NDTMA Conference: Air-coupled Ultrasound and other benefits for NDT

SONOTEC US attended the 2019 Annual Conference, held by the Nondestructive Testing Management Association February 12-14 in the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas, NV.   SONOTEC sales engineers showcased their latest developments in ultrasonic technologies for flaw detection and thickness gauging at booth #24, providing information and product demonstrations relevant for various inspection tasks in the field of quality insurance.

SONOTEC engineers were available to discuss and present the advantages and opportunities that a fully contact-free ultrasonic inspection using air as a couplant is creating. In his lecture ‘NDT with Air-coupled Ultrasound – Quality Control and Competitive Advantage for Suppliers’ SONOTEC application engineer Tobias Gautzsch reaffirmed the strategic importance of economically sound and contemporary testing infrastructures in global competition. Innovative Air-coupled ultrasound inspection systems (ACUT) are to play an important role in this regard.

At SONOTEC booth #24 the conference participants could experience the first phased-array ACUT system SONOAIR live in action, as well as the first thickness gage in the market with intelligent probe identification and extended probe management: SONOWALL 70.

The NDTMA spring conference brings together over 50 exhibitors and NDT technology providers with researchers and practitioners around the globe. The NDTMA (Nondestructive Testing Management Association) was formed over fifty years ago to provide a forum for the open exchange of managerial, technical, and regulatory information critical to the successful management of NDT personnel and activities. Conference participants can expect a comprehensive three-day program of technical sessions, seminars and presentations as well as a truly unique trade exhibition.
