The SONAPHONE UH is capable of detecting the smallest of leaks and seal failures in the pressurised systems of heating, sanitary, air conditioning and ventilation systems. The device is particularly suitable for detecting leaks in covered pipes with restricted access.

If, for example, leaks must be rapidly detected in underfloor heating systems or in water pipes located behind tiled walls, the system must first be drained and filled with compressed air or nitrogen.

Once the system reaches a pressure of 2 to 3 bar, the floor or tiled wall can be scanned in sections using the ultrasonic microphone. The gas escaping from the leak emits noises that precisely indicate where the leak is. This drastically reduces the cost of the repair of the leak because only that particular small section of the floor or wall must be opened up.
